Lawren has always had an appetite for food and life. After an early introduction to the culinary arts through work in professional kitchens, Lawren successfully completed formal culinary training at the Stratford Chefs school in Stratford, Ontario.
After graduation Lawren worked and staged for several years at top restaurants in Canada, the United States and France. Lawren worked with acclaimed author and cooking teacher Anne Willan as her personal chef and as Kitchen Director of her acclaimed French cooking school, LaVarenne. Lawren has also travelled to Thailand, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, always eager to broaden her cultural culinary experience.
Moving out of the professional kitchen, Lawren began food styling as the Food Stylist Assistant on the set of the award-winning cooking show, French Food at Home, hosted by Laura Calder. She has since worked with many top chefs and culinary celebrities, created unique recipes for print publications, taught cooking classes, tested recipes, appeared on television to promote products, cookbooks and events through recipe demonstrations, and continues to work as a featured Food Stylist for print and television.
Lawren now calls Vancouver, British Columbia home where she draws inspiration from the fresh and vibrant Canadian west coast food culture.
